Sylvain is the guitarist, founder and composer of MONOLITHE one of the household names within the Doom Metal community.
The band’s first four records, “Monolithe I” to “Monolithe IV”, released from 2003 to 2012, have established the band internationally with their +50 minutes epic & grandiose Extreme Doom Metal saga and their science-fiction themes.
The year 2015 was spent recording not one, but two new albums respectively titled “Epsilon Aurigae” (2015) & “Zeta Reticuli” (2016), released 6 months apart from each other and both having met with universal praise.
In addition to the new albums, MONOLITHE have then decided to play live for the first time in their history. That’s how the band performed a handful of shows over Europe, including the prestigious Hellfest & Motocultor in France, Brutal Assault in Czech Republic, Metal Days in Slovenia, Dutch Doom Days in the Netherlands, Swamp Festival in Berlin, a Japanese tour, a European tour and many more gigs.
2018 saw the release of “Nebula Septem”, with which MONOLITHE pushed once again the boundaries of the Doom Metal genre, exploring the mysterious theme of extra-terrestrial civilizations on the 7 songs record.
The first show of the Nebula Septem Tour has been recorded on tape and has been provided as MONOLITHE’s first live album: “From Equinox to Solstice – Live at Beltane”. The band showed a new facet of their music with the live rendition of carefully chosen songs from their last album as well as fans’ favourites from older albums.
“Okta Khora”, the band’s eighth album, was released in january 2020. The 8 songs new concept album tells the tale of an alien civilisation whose religious fanaticism lead them to believe they need to destroy the universe in order to reload it. The album brings to light MONOLITHE’s influences in Classic and Progressive Rock.

It’s been a long time that I was thinking of having an explorer-shaped guitar but I couldn’t find one that met my expectations. Then Solar entered the game with the modern flair of its E series and here you go! I finally have found here the perfect balance between the look, the smoothness of playing, the weight, the tone and the simple elegance of the overall guitar that I was craving for. I’m not sure I can go back to any other brand now that I’m hooked with Solar!
