Justin Schut is a metal guitarist from The Netherlands, playing with Dutch metal legends MARTYR and female fronted metal band Phrasing.
Martyr is a thrash/power metal band that’s been around since 1982. The general public first became acquainted with Martyr in 1985, when the song “En Masse (Stand Or Die)” appeared on the collective album “Metal Massacre VI” of the legendary American label Metal Blade. The debut album “For The Universe” from the same year is still considered a classic in heavy metal circles.
The group frequently performs as a headliner or as a support act for bigger names such as Trivium, Iced Earth, Saxon, Evergrey, Raven, Flotsam & Jetsam and others. The absolute highlights of Martyr’s career so far have been their 3 tours in Japan, which featured frenzied crowds. Martyr is currently on tour supporting their 2022 album “Planet Metalhead”, which was named Album of the Year by Metalfan.nl
