Irena Angelova is a Bulgarian guitar player and songwriter. She picked up the guitar at the age of twelve and in 2018 she joined her first band Gwendydd. The band grew quickly in the local scene as a female dominated extreme metal brutal force.
Gwendydd have released two studio albums since, secured a deal with the German metal label Drakkar Entertainment, and have played many shows around Europe sharing the stage with bands like Ensiferum, Dark Tranquillity, Grave Digger and others. The band has also been featured in magazines like ROCK HARD and Metal Hammer.
Currently Irena and her bandmates are working on Gwendydd’s third studio album.
