Disarmonia Mundi, disharmony of the world, a name that throughout the years has become a synonym of melodic death metal, counting more than 30 million streams on Spotify alone, forging a legacy able to thrive despite long years of silence or the lack of live activity whatsoever.
Founded by visionary musician Ettore Rigotti in 2000 and known for their intricate compositions, powerful vocals, and dynamic performances, the band has established a dedicated following worldwide.
Since their inception, Disarmonia Mundi has unleashed five critically acclaimed albums, including Nebularium (2001), Fragments of D-Generation (2004), Mind Tricks (2006), The Isolation Game (2009), and Cold Inferno (2015). Not only do these albums demonstrate the band’s vibrant sound, but also feature notable contributions from musicians such as Björn ‘Speed’ Strid (Soilwork) and Christian Älvestam (Solution .45, ex-Scar Symmetry). Disarmonia Mundi’s music seamlessly blends heavy metal aggression with melodic elements, creating an intense and captivating sound.
In recent years, the band has been relatively quiet, but their influence endures. Ettore Rigotti has remained active in the music industry, working on various projects and running his own record label, Coroner Records. Meanwhile, Claudio Ravinale has launched two successful side projects: the industrial metal band The Silverblack and the gothic horror metal project Infernalizer.
But fast forward to 2024, after nearly a decade of silence since their last release in 2015, Disarmonia Mundi is set to brek the silence on November 22nd with their brand new single, “Oathbreaker”. With “Oathbreaker”, Disarmonia Mundi is poised to reclaim their position as one of the leading forces in melodic death metal – a relentless and powerful melodeath assault showcasing the band’s trademark sound filled with crushing riffs, classic metal melodies, ruthless growly vocals by Claudio opposed to the epic and melancholic vocal harmonies done by Ettore and an overall gigantic wall of sound which returns the band to top form after all these years of silence.
